Zürcher Ragout first appeared in a cookbook in 1947. Our "Züri-Gschnätzlets" is well known and is now considered one of the classic dishes of the Zurich region. You choose between pork or chicken and we fry it with onions and deglaze it with white wine. At the end we add fresh cream. This Swiss specialty consists of crispy fried potatoes with a buttery flavor. Originally it was a breakfast dish eaten mainly by peasants in the canton of Bern, but today it is enjoyed throughout Switzerland and around the world. (The preparation requires at least 20 minutes of time).
